From time to time I take portrait photos and this picture is of one of my favorite subjects, my daughter. Many years ago when I was learning about photography I had to shoot and develop my own black and white film. That was quite a learning experience for me. These days with a DSLR or photo editing software it make it quite easy to view images in both dimensions.
Below I have posted the color format of the image above. What I would like is your thoughts on these images providing me with which picture you may find more interesting and why. I look forward to reading your responses.
Many Thanks!
I prefer the color photograph. The lighting makes for interesting contrast, especially on her face. While the black and white version looks nice, I think the skin tones in the color photo come through better. Then again, it could just be the monitor I'm looking at it on.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of black and white but I agree with Alan. Between these two the soft facial lighting and color in the second are much more complimentary.
ReplyDeleteIn the color picture, the glow of the light on her hair accentuates her beautiful hair color and compliments her skin tone in a way that gets lost in the black and white photo.
